Description
Any band featuring ex-Humpers/Lovesores’ Scott “Deluxe” Drake at the helm is worth your attention, and Portland’s Guerrilla Teens are no exception. With former Humpers/Lovesores gunslingers Jeff Fieldhouse and Saul Koll in tow and a solid rhythm section (Bill Connolly and Anna Anderson on drums and bass, respectively), the GT’s continue the dirty rock & roll tradition of the aforementioned bands without sounding like a copy of either. The Teens tread darker waters, both musically and lyrically.
Deluxe and Co. have been mighty busy over the last couple of years playing a slew of blazing shows and churning out one great release after another, such as their killer debut LP (on Sioux Records), one side of a split 10″ on Ghost Highway Recordings and some assorted 7″ers (including last year’s split 7″ on Heavy Med with Pat Todd & the Rankoutsiders titled “Exiled in Warsaw”.)
Now, we’re proud to be releasing the next installment in the Guerrilla Teens’ story. This limited edition 7″ contains two new songs, “I Cyclops” and “Pride of the Savanna”, both of which feature some tasty organ that gives these tunes a 60’s garage rock feel while not sounding retro. All in all, this is another great GT’s release you won’t want to miss!
